Eco Housing Scheme
 Construction is progressing rapidly on a housing scheme at Yarn Street in Hunslet, fronting the River Aire. The 281 home scheme by Miller Homes received £3.95m Kickstart funding from the Government's Homes & Communities Agency designed to accelerate developments affected by the economic downturn. The new homes will be built to high eco standards and will include a proportion of affordable housing. The first phase is expected to be complete by March 2011.

Business Voice Wanted
Aire Valley Leeds is one of the region’s largest regeneration and development programmes, and one of the Council's top priorities. Over the next 10 -15 years, proposed developments in the area will make a major contribution to the future prosperity of the city.
The regeneration programme is overseen by the Aire Valley Leeds Regeneration Board, chaired by Cllr Richard Lewis, with membership including local Ward Councillors, the Leeds Initiative, private developers and the Homes & Communities Agency.
HOWEVER – although Aire Valley is a key employment area, there is no representation from the local business community. The Board wants to ensure that the needs of local businesses are fully included in proposals for the area. If you are a company based in the area and would be interested, please contact Alan Taylor on 0113 214 9005.

is intended to help promote local businesses and assist sourcing goods and services locally. However, of the 400 businesses in the area, less than a quarter are currently listed in the Directory.
